Updates and restarts
Windows and app updates go on automatically. Restarts happen when you've said they can, or after you say yes.
Managed IT and security
Crashcart installs your updates, checks every computer's security each morning, backs everything up where ransomware can't get to it, and fixes things when your staff get stuck. Most weeks you'll get one email saying all is well. When something needs a decision, it asks you first.
Sound familiar?
It's usually whoever is best with computers. They restart the router, chase the printer and keep clicking "remind me later" on updates. Nobody has tried restoring the backup, and the security paperwork an auditor or insurer would ask for is old or missing.
Crashcart takes that job off their plate, so they can get back to theirs.
Who uses it
Getting started
You don't need to know anything about computers to set it up.
Crashcart asks a few questions in plain English: what the business does, who uses which computer, what kind of customer information you keep, and when it's OK to restart things. Your answers tell it which rules you're under and what your plan should be.
Run the installer and click Yes. After the first one, Crashcart finds your other computers and sends whoever uses each one an install link. If a vendor looks after a machine, like an X-ray PC, mark it hands-off and Crashcart will leave it alone.
Crashcart looks over every computer every day and fixes whatever is safe to fix. If it needs your OK, you get an email with the options as buttons, and the question shows up on your computer too. You also get a short summary on Mondays and a full report at the start of each month.
What's included
Windows and app updates go on automatically. Restarts happen when you've said they can, or after you say yes.
Each morning Crashcart checks antivirus, firewall, disk encryption, screen locks, who has admin rights, and old or weak accounts. It fixes the simple things right away. Anything that would change how people work waits for you.
Staff click Get help and type what's wrong, like "the printer says offline". Crashcart works on it right there on their computer, and can pull a deleted file back from the backup.
Crashcart keeps notes on how your office runs and asks you short questions when there's a real decision to make. You can pass any question to your office manager.
Your risk assessment, security policies and incident plan, written from how your computers are actually set up. Anything only you would know is flagged for you to fill in before you sign.
Tell Crashcart a laptop is missing and it's cut off right away. You'll also know whether its disk was encrypted, which usually decides whether you have to report a breach.
When you or our support team need to see someone's screen, they're asked first, and a banner with a Stop button stays up the whole time.
Crashcart notices new devices on your office network and checks whether anything of yours can be reached from the internet.
Every computer runs endpoint detection with a security team watching it day and night. If they spot an attacker, that computer is cut off from your network within minutes, and you get a plain explanation of what happened.
Crashcart Backup
A lot of small offices don't have a backup, or have one nobody has ever tried restoring. Crashcart backs up every computer at night, locks each copy so it can't be erased, and test-restores from it every week.
At closing time. Files people left open get backed up too.
Each computer gets its own backup and its own key, so a stolen laptop can't open anyone else's.
Nobody can delete a locked copy early, and that includes us.
Crashcart restores a sample of files and compares them to the originals.
Compliance
Tell Crashcart what kind of information you handle and it figures out which rules you're under. It then checks the matching safeguards every day and keeps a dated record of each check and fix, with the section of the rule it comes from.
Crashcart handles the technical safeguards and writes the first draft of the paperwork. You read it over and sign.
You're in charge
Let it handle things, have it ask about anything big, or have it ask about everything. You can switch whenever you like.
Mark a computer off limits and Crashcart only watches it. The computer itself refuses any changes.
Every command, fix and answer is recorded with who did it and why. Anything new that Crashcart writes from scratch waits for your yes.
You sign in with a passkey instead of a password. Each business's data is kept separate, passwords you give us are stored encrypted, and our software updates are signed.

FAQ
No. Setup is a short conversation in plain English, and every email explains what's going on and what each answer will do. If you can install an app, you can set up Crashcart.
Crashcart does. It's AI built to work like an IT technician: it reads each computer's checks, works out what's wrong and fixes it within the limits you set. A security team watches for attacks around the clock, and our support team is there when you need a person. Everything is logged.
Windows 10 and 11, Windows Server and Linux.
Anything that could interrupt work, like a restart or a change to how people sign in, waits for your answer unless you've told it to go ahead. Fixes are small and logged, so they're easy to undo, and computers you mark hands-off are never changed.
Yes. Crashcart works out which rules apply from what your business handles: HIPAA for patient records, PCI DSS if you take cards, the FTC Safeguards Rule for customer financial data, CMMC Level 1 for federal contract work, and the CIS Controls as a baseline for everyone. It checks the matching safeguards every day, keeps the evidence log and writes your risk assessment and policies. Medical and dental practices get a business associate agreement (BAA) with us.
It does more than antivirus. Every computer gets endpoint detection that a security team watches around the clock, and Crashcart keeps the antivirus built into Windows on and up to date, turning it back on if someone switches it off.
No. If yours works, Crashcart checks on it every day and tells you if it stops. If it keeps failing, or you don't have one, Crashcart Backup is included in the price.
Yes, whenever you want. There's no contract. You can export everything, and your recovery kit lets you restore your backups without us. When you close your account, we remove Crashcart from your computers and delete your data within 30 days.
